Finally, Arsenal have an agreement in place to sign £22m-rated midfielder

According to Italian media reports, Premier League giants Arsenal are set to make a summer swoop to land Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira.

Italian publication Calciomercato Sampdoria, as cited by the Daily Star, is claiming that the Gunners have an agreement in place to sign the defensive midfielder this summer transfer window.

As per the same report, the defensive midfielder is available for a fee of about £21.9m because of a buyout clause in his deal.

However, Arsenal are thought to be really facing a race against time to seal the move, because the release clause reportedly run out at the end of June.

Arsenal hierarchy has made their intentions known as regards Totteira with his representative Pablo Bentancur ahead of a potential summer transfer.

The 22-year-old defensive midfielder netted four goals and created one assist in 36 Italian Serie A matches for Lazio last term.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are thought to be in the market for a couple of fresh signings this summer transfer window as they try to assemble a squad capable of challenging favourably for the English Premier League title next term.
