Everton stopping Arsenal’s free run for Dakonam’s signature

North London outfit Arsenal will no longer have a free run in their pursuit of Spanish La Liga outfit Getafe central defender Djene Dakonam in this summer transfer window.

The North London outfit have been linked with a number of defenders ahead of the coming season because of their bad experience last season in the defence line

Djene Dakonam has been impressive with Getafe since he joined them in the summer of 2017. He was able to earn 34 League games.

The Togo international Defender is one of the best in the Spanish La Liga as he can be heavily relied upon when it matters most.

Obviously, manager Unai Emery is unhappy with his first season at Arsenal as he conceded too many goals than expected. A total of 50 goals conceded which is one of the worst in the club’s history.

It is therefore unclear if an agreement will be reached between the two parties for the Togo International knowing that the North London outfit have got a limited transfer budget to engage in the summer transfer window.

Djene Dakonam has got a contract with Getafe until 2023 but that could end before the agreed time.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will face a battle from Merseyside outfit Everton for the signature of Djene Dakonam.
