Turkish giants, Besiktas have joined race to sign Barcelona midfielder and Arsenal target, Arda Turan, according to reports.
The 29-year-old has been heavily linked with away from the Camp Nou due to his lack of chances since he joined them in 2015 from Atletico Madrid.
Arsenal have closely monitored the transfer situation of the midfielder, with reports that Arsene Wenger is ready to bring him to the Emirates this summer and has even held talks with Barca about a potential move for the Turkish midfielder.
There are suggestions that Barcelona were trying to use the Turan deal as a makeweight in the negotiations to sign Arsenal fullback, Hector Bellerin, who has been tipped to return to the Catalan giants although Wenger is not ready to sell.
Reports in Spanish outlet, Sport claim that Besiktas have also entered the race to bring Turan back to his native Turkey as the move to the Emirates continue to drag on.
Portuguese side, Sporting Lisbon have also been lately credited with a move for Turan, while there have also been interest from China but it is understood that the 30-year-old will rather remain in Europe.
The Gunners are believed to be considering for a top midfielder as Mesut Ozil continues to stall on renewing his contract at the club despite having just one year on his current deal.
