Arsenal Boss Unai Emery is not left alone in heaping praise on his team captain Mesut Ozil who put up a wonderful performance for his in their 3-1 victory over Leicester City.
A good run in the Arsenal box by City’s Ben Chilwell forced Hector Bellerin into putting the ball in his own net to give the Foxes the lead but goals the German international and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang was enough to coast victory for the Gunners.
Ozil’s performance had caught the eyes of everyone having put on the team’s armband for the first time this season.
Emery noted that Ozil has been hard working and committed at training which is reflecting in the matches he plays.
According to the Gunners manager, all of his players have worked very hard to deserve praise, adding that it was a performance of the team and not an individual.
However, Emery explained the reason behind his formation and choice of player in the game, noting that he needed not to play two attackers against a good side like Leicester City so as to balance the midfield.
He noted that he was affected by the unavailability of certain players who would have added confidence and strength to his side.
