Double signing expected this week; Abramovich set to sign sarri plus €133k-a-week star

According to Italian media reports, Premier League giants Chelsea could make a huge-money transfer move to pip reigning Premier League champions Manchester City to the landing of Napoli superstar Jorginho.

Chelsea keen on Italian boss

The West London side are in the process of appointing Italian tactician Maurizio Sarri as the side’s new boss but are still locked in negotiations talks with Napoli Chief Executive Aurelio De Laurentiis, despite the tactician having been sacked in June and replaced by former Chelsea and Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Although the former Napoli manager’s €8million release clause in his deal at the club has reached gotten to its expiration, the Italian is still technically contracted to Napoli, thereby leading the Blues to continue discussions with the Italian Serie A side over setting him free from his deal.

Midfielder comes to play

This is where a possible move for Jorginho comes to play, with Football Italia claiming that a €60million transfer deal for the combative midfielder would act as a bait in Chelsea’s quest to convince the Italian side to release Maurizio Sarri.

The Etihad giants have been desperate to complete the signing of Jorginho but at the last hour, it looks like the West Londoners could swoop, with reports claiming that this would help smoother talks with the Serie A club regarding the deal for the want-away tactician.
