Done Deal! Chelsea close to signing Daniele Rugani with €40million deal agreed
According to Italian media reports, 2017 Premier League champions Chelsea look prepared to make Daniele Rugani their first summer signing in a €40million move from Italian Serie A champions Juventus.
Chelsea constantly linked with Juve star
The 23-year-old Centre-half has been heavily linked with the West London club for a long time now, with Premium Sport suggesting the defender’s signing was requested by Italian tactician Maurizio Sarri, who is widely expected to replace current Chelsea boss Antonio Conte as head coach at Stamford Bridge.
Excited fans
Chelsea supporters will be delighted to see the side finally reinforce after a rather quiet summer in the market so far, with the squad certainly in need of major operation after last term’s disappointing 5th spot finish.
The defender could be a major upgrade on under-performing central defenders like Brazil international David Luiz and England international defender Gary Cahill, both of whom look beyond their best with the Blues.
Promising defender
While the Juventus star hasn’t always been a regular starter at the Turin club he looks a promising player who could, without doubt, be first choice defender for most other top clubs who don’t have as many top defensive options as the Serie A champions.
