Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke is open to the idea of joining Scottish Premier League giants Rangers when the transfer window reopens in the next two weeks.
This is according to the Daily Mirror which claimed that the England international player would welcome the opportunity to swap England for Scotland where he will definitely get more first team opportunities.
Solanke, 21, wants to join Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard in Scotland.
Former Reds skipper Gerrard is the Rangers manager after he was appointed in the summer.
He’s said to be keen on a move for Dominic Solanke to boost his attacking options ahead of an expected Scottish Premier League title challenge in the second half of the season.
Alfredo Morelos is the first choice striker at Ibrox but summer signing and his backup Kyle Lafferty has been disappointing since he joined Rangers.
Another backup striker Umar Sadiq has returned to parent club AS Roma after an unfruitful loan spell.
The Nigerian-born striker played five games only for the Scottish giants.
The previously mentioned report also stated that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp won’t sanction a possible loan move for Solanke until he can assess his options after the busy festive period.
Klopp and Liverpool have surged to the top of the Premier League table without the input of Solanke who’s yet to play for the Reds this season.
