Belgium international forward Eden Hazard has declared himself prepared to hit top shape ahead of an important week for Chelsea’s League season.
The Chelsea playmaker scored the winning goal in Saturday’s 1-0 win at AFC Bournemouth, where the West London club kept themselves within nine points of leaders Manchester City.
Eden Hazard missed the beginning of the League season after an ankle operation but has now scored three goals in as many Chelsea matches in all competitions.
Conte’s men travel to AS Roma in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night, before playing host to rivals Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday – and the playmaker hopes now to kick himself and his team into a new top gear.
Questioned if he is now fully fit after his injury, Eden Hazard replied: ‘Yeah for sure, definitely. I [Hazard] am training [very] hard, the injury is [in] the past.
The Blues laboured in front of goal despite a dominance performance against the Cherries on Saturday afternoon, but Eden Hazard’s low goal sealed the victory.
Italian manager Antonio Conte said afterwards the importance of the win in terms of the Blues’s English Premier League defence.
And the attacker echoed those sentiments, especially as Chelsea still claimed the points despite an eccentric finishing.
