According to media reports, Arsenal have held discussions with Jean-Michael Seri about a summer move but rivals Chelsea are on course to beat Arsenal to his signature.
Arsenal desperately keen on Seri
The Daily Mirror is claiming that Arsenal have shown interest in signing the 26-year-old this coming transfer window after having also been connected with a move to land him last summer.
As per the same article, the player who plays for Nice in the Ligue 1 is currently valued at about £40m by the French outfit – but the Blues are leading the transfer race for his service.
Should he eventually join one of the London teams this summer window, Seri will be joining a club without UEFA Champions League football next term.
Seri has been in decent form for the French club this term, netting two goals and providing five assists in 30 matches for the French outfit. He also played five times in the UEFA Europa League.
Reinforcement required in London
Both Chelsea and Arsenal are likely to be in the market for major reinforcements this summer window as they aim to assemble a team capable of winning the Premier League title next term.
The two London giants endured disappointing campaigns in the English topflight, as the Blues finished fifth and the Gunners ended up sixth.
