According to Italian media reports, Premier League side Liverpool and Serie A club Lazio are in serious transfer talks over the playing future of Marko Grujic.
Liverpool star set for Serie A move
Italian publication Calciomercato, as cited by the Daily Mirror, is claiming that all camps want the 22-year-old’s proposed transfer to the Italian side to be sealed before Serbia’s FIFA World Cup opening match against Costa Rica later on Sunday.
He has struggled heavily to make an impact at the Merseyside club and he was loaned out to Cardiff City for the second stanza of last campaign.
The report says that the Serie A club are keen to complete a transfer deal for the midfield maestro and a switch worth about €6million could be sealed in the coming days.
Liverpool seek reinforcement
Meanwhile, the Reds are still thought to be in the market for a couple of new recruits this summer window as they look to build a team solid enough to challenge for the English Premier League title next term.
Liverpool enjoyed what has been described as a relatively successful campaign last term as they finished in the fourth position on the English Premier League log to seal UEFA Champions League qualification.
The Merseyside club also reached the UEFA Champions League final in Kiev but were defeated by Spanish giants Real Madrid.
