According to The Telegraph, With the next transfer window set to open on Thursday, it looks like Arsenal want to seal a move for £35 million-valued Freiburg star Caglar Soyuncu.
Defender strongly linked to Arsenal
The defender was heavily linked to join the Gunners earlier in the month by Altinordu Supremo Seyit Mehmet Ozkan, notwithstanding interest from European giants Bayern Munich, as per the Metro.
Soyuncu, 21, centre-half has had a couple of impressive outings in the German Bundesliga since joining from the Turkish second division two seasons ago and could now move to England.
According to the Telegraph, Sven Mislintat, Arsenal’s recruitment head has been the main catalyst behind the transfer for Soyuncu.
Arsenal keen on defensive reinforcement
The club chief has a reputation for handing opportunity to young talent and was allegedly behind the transfer for Greek centre-half Konstantinos Mavropanos, as cited in the report, who has begun his career at Arsenal brightly.
The player is known to be a very quick centre-half and has been compared with Mats Hummels for his aerial ability.
He could be an important signing to address the club’s defensive ails, as Arsenal conceded 51 goals this past campaign in the English Premier League, as per the official Premier League website.
