Few hours after the exit news broke, many Chelsea supporters are still working out the consequence for Michael Emenalo leaving the West London outfit.
Along with Senior club director Marina Granovskaia, the Nigerian has been in charge of the club’s recruitment in recent season. And Chelsea have undoubtedly done pretty well in that period.
Since joining the Blues back in 2007, the Premier League Champions have scooped up a total of eight major trophies. It’s also true that the Blues academy is now one of the most successful in England.
The African has also been blamed for permitting the likes of Belgian Romelu Lukaku, Egyptian Mohamed Salah and Belgian Kevin De Bruyne exiting the club.
The London Evening Standard on Tuesday looked into how the Blues could fill the position left vacant by the departure of Emenalo.
Some Chelsa fans took to the internet to call for Italian Andrea Pirlo to fill that role.
Yet, as per the London-based publication, the Blues may not replace Emenalo at all.
A report indicates that director Marina Granovskaia, who is mainly in charge of transfer activities, is taking over his responsibilities for the time being.
