Maurizio Sarri’s led Chelsea will have a big battle on their hands if they are to secure a transfer for highly-rated Borussia Dortmund forward Christian Pulisic when the mid-season transfer window comes around in the next few weeks.
The Daily Mirror has reported that fellow Premier League title contenders Liverpool will battle Chelsea for the United States of America international player.
It’s rumoured that the Reds want to fund a transfer for the 20-year-old by selling summer signing Fabinho whom they secured his transfer from struggling French Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco.
Fabinho who is a Brazilian international signed for Liverpool during the summer’s transfer window in a deal reported to be worth around £40m but despite the huge money transfer the player has failed to enjoy life at the Merseyside.
The player started the season out of the starting XI before recent injuries to the midfield duo of Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita handed him the chance to impress in the colours of Liverpool where he has started the last three games in the Premier League but failed to really light up those matches.
European heavyweights such as AC Milan and French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) are said to be interested in him and the Reds could cash in on him in their quest to raise £70m for the transfer of Christian Pulisic.
Liverpool will have to fend off Chelsea to achieve that.
