Premier League Champions Chelsea could have a huge advantage over Premier League duo of Liverpool and Arsenal in the potential struggle over the move of AS Monaco star Thomas Lemar in the New Year.
The Daily Telegraph claims the £80million Frenchman remains a transfer target for Chelsea in January, and Belgian Michy Batshuayi could be a good option in a possible swap move for him.
Thomas Lemar has been a superb player to watch in the French Ligue 1 for the last few seasons, and seems like he’d be a good fit at a couple of elite European teams.
According to Daily Mail earlier this campaign, Arsenal could return for the France winger after failing to secure his services during the last summer transfer window, while Merseyside giant Liverpool have also been strongly linked as former suitors and also Lemar’s personally preferred choice by Merseyside publication Liverpool Echo.
However, the Telegraph states AS Monaco’s new director Michael Emenalo, who left Stamford Bridge earlier this campaign, is a huge fan of Mitchy Batshuayi and could try to secure his service again, having formerly signed him to Chelsea.
He has barely featured for the Blues, and could profit from leaving the club for more regular playing time ahead of the FIFA World Cup next summer.
