Chelsea To Play Dynamo Kiev In Europa League Last 16 Tie

Former winners Chelsea will face Dynamo Kiev FC of Ukraine for a place in the quarterfinals of this season’s Europa League.

The West Londoners discovered their last 16 opponents after the draw took place earlier today.

Chelsea will host the Ukrainians in the first leg of their last 16 ties on Thursday, March 7 before the return leg in Ukraine on Thursday, March 14.

Maurizio Sarri and his players were dominant in the last round as they dispatched Swedish club Malmo FF in their last 32 ties.

Chelsea had won the first leg in Sweden 2-1 before their spot in the last 16 of the competition was sealed with a 3-0 victory at Stamford Bridge for a 5-1 aggregate win.

Dynamo Kiev striker Fran Sol scored the only goal of the game to give his side a 1-0 win over Greek side Olympiacos at home.

The victory gave the Ukrainians a 3-2 aggregate win.

In the pick of the other ties, Italian side Napoli have been drawn against Red Bull Salzburg, while Arsenal will face French Ligue 1 side Rennes.
