The Gunners are confident Englishman Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will remain at the club this summer transfer window.

Chamberlain, 23, whose current deal expires at the end of next season, has attracted interest from rival clubs such as Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester City.

The player has grown increasingly frustrated over a lack of progress in the negotiation of contract extension. The attacker played a pivotal role in the Gunners late-season upturn which saw them win the FA Cup.

He has reportedly rejected a new, improved terms and there are fears he may leave the North London club either this summer or when his current contract ends.

However, the pacy forward has travelled to Australia for a pre-season tour with the rest of the squad and the Gunners are encouraged that an agreement that will see Alex extend his six–year contract at the London club will be reached.

The Gunners, who are ready to table a third offer for Thomas Lemar, touchdown Sydney this morning. They are scheduled to play Sydney at ANZ Stadium on Thursday before playing Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday at the same venue.
The team will then depart Australia on Sunday for a tour of China, where they will play European giants Bayern Munich and Chelsea.
