According to Daily Mail, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte looks prepared to be a very busy man this coming New Year as he tries to strengthen his team, and the former Juventus boss is considering the possibility of bringing back England international striker Daniel Sturridge to Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool striker Danny Sturridge left the West London club for Merseyside back in 2013 because he wasn’t getting enough playing time at Chelsea, however, about five years on, the forward is now a bench-warmer at Liverpool and may be open to a transfer back to his former side.
The former Italy head coach seems to be frustrated with his forward options, with summer signing Alvaro Morata frequently leading the lineup front along with fellow forward Belgian Michy Batshuayi seemingly not so trusted by the manager.
With the Premier League Champions still in the UEFA Champions League, English FA Cup and the Carabao Cup, matches will be coming very thick and fast from the New Year, and if Antonio Conte can guarantee the striker more playing time than he is getting at Merseyside giant Liverpool at the moment, the England international forward may be open to the thought of heading back to Stamford Bridge.
