Chelsea keeping close tabs on 20-years-old Leverkusen star

Premier League Champions Chelsea watched their target Leon Bailey in Bayer Leverkusen’s win over German Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart on Saturday night.

The Jamaican international youngster made two assists in the 2-0 victory as he played a vital role in the win.

The Blues may need to move fast as both Spanish La Liga side FC Barcelona and Merseyside giant Liverpool are keen on the player.

The West London club have held meetings about the possibility of bringing in the player ahead of a possible transfer in the New Year.

The Stamford Bridge giant have had a long-term interest in the Jamaican ever since he joined German Bundesliga side Bayern Leverkusen and even before that move, when as a 15-year-old he moved to Belgium.

The hot prospect joined the German side for a reported fee of around £12.75 million last summer transfer window and has impressed ever since netting 4 goals and creating 4 assists.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is interested in strengthening their attacking line and sees Leon Bailey as a top transfer target.

Even though the Jamaican is only 20-years-old, the former Juventus manager and Chelsea see the starlet playing a vital role in their long-term project.
