Premier League giants Chelsea are reportedly considering Steve Holland as a temporary replacement for Maurizio Sarri if the Italian tactician is dismissed from his post as the Blues manager.
This is according to the publication from the Daily Telegraph.
Steve Holland is not a stranger to the Chelsea managerial setup having previously held the assistant manager’s role at the club.
The 48-year-old is currently the assistant manager to Three Lions of England boss Gareth Southgate.
He was part of the England team that finished fourth at last summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.
Steve Holland was recently on a scouting mission for the England national team during the Premier League game between West Ham United and Fulham on Friday.
The Hammers came from a goal down to beat struggling Fulham 3-1.
Steve Holland could be the Blues’ temporary manager for the remainder of the season if Chelsea decide to sack the aforementioned Sarri.
The Italian tactician is under massive pressure after his team collapsed in recent games including the 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester City.
Several reports claim that the former Napoli manager might lose his job if Chelsea lose to defending champions Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday evening.
