Finally! Chelsea boss delivers heartbreaking update about star player

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has disclosed that defender David Luiz has been battling with a new injury problem after he was left out of the Blues’ 3-0 defeat to AFC Bournemouth on Wednesday.

The Brazilian has sustained an ankle injury and is now working very hard to try and return to full fitness for Chelsea as soon as possible.

It was an evening to forget for the reigning League Champions on Wednesday when they were beaten 3-0 in front of their fans by Eddie Howe’s men at Stamford Bridge.

Christensen nursing injury

Denmark international defender Andreas Christensen is also nursing an injury and Antonio Conte was asked for the latest update on Brazil international David Luiz after he was dropped off the squad for Wednesday’s match.

Antonio Conte will now have to regroup his team as they try and return to winning ways in the League when they face Watford on Monday evening.

The Blues are currently fourth in the Premier League log but only two points ahead of fifth-placed Spurs as the race for UEFA Champions League qualification hots up this season.

Chelsea also have a huge task of a UEFA Champions League last 16 encounters against Spanish side Barcelona later in the month.
