Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti has claimed he has not spoken with Paris Saint Germain midfielder Marco Verratti over a potential move.
Prior reports have it that the Italian boss held talks with the 24-year-old regarding a move to the Allianz area in the summer.
According to Le Parsien, Ancelotti wants Verratti to join Bayern and has called him on the phone as he views him as a long-term replacement for Xabi Alonso, whose contract expires this summer.
Reports in German outlet, Bild also claim that the German champions will have to shell out a staggering £69 million fee.
However, Ancelotti has insisted he is not moving for the midfielder, suggesting he will stay with the French side ‘for a long time’.
‘I have not spoken with Marco Verratti for the past three months or so,’ said Ancelotti.
‘I did not call him either.
‘I think Marco will stay at Paris Saint-Germain for a long time.
‘I know him quite well from my time at PSG. He is a great player and is professional.’
Chelsea are also said to be considering a move for Marco Verratti and Antonio Conte may move for him in the summer as he hopes to shuffle his midfield area.
