Atletico Madrid star player Antoine Griezmann looks set to join Manchester United and it appears that he could well be about to make a rather big statement to boot.

Apart from the huge money United would have to cough out, Griezmann has reportedly asked for the iconic number seven shirt that were worn by top stars like David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Presently, Memphis Depay wears the shirt, and he wasn’t performing like the above mentioned. The winger is set to finally leave the Old Trafford club after they agreed a fee with Lyon. With Depay’s departure, the number 7 shirt would become vacant and Griezmann could get it easily when he arrived.

There have been serious speculations that Griezmann would make the move to United and now, with the terms reportedly nearly agreed, this summer could be a huge one.

Nevertheless, one factor that could also determine if he will come or not is if United can grab a Champions League ticket for next season. The red devils can only get this if they can end up among the top four this season or win the Europa League.

Even though  securing a first Premier League title since the days of Alex Ferguson will also be on Mourinho’s list of priorities, he need to concentrate more on being among the top four this season- as that looks more realistic.
