European Giants Leapfrog Liverpool In Race For €65m Rated Star

Two European giants have leapfrogged Liverpool in their pursuit of French international forward Nabil Fekir ahead of the upcoming transfer window in January.

Fekir, 25, plays his club football with French Ligue 1 giants Olympique Lyon.

He was part of the 23-man squad that won a second World Cup title for France at this summer’s FIFA tournament in Russia via a 4-2 win over surprise finalists Croatia in their final clash.

According to the bookmakers via rushthekop, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have moved ahead of the Reds in the race to sign him.

Bayern Munich are 6/1 favourites to sign the Frenchman ahead of European champions Real Madrid who are second favourites at 10/1.

Liverpool are now third favourites to secure a transfer for him at 14/1.

He came close to joining the Reds in the summer but the Premier League giants pulled out at the last minute as a result of a medical issue.

Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are strongly interested as they bid to boost their respective squads.

German champions Bayern are looking at long-term replacements for the ageing duo of Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery, while Real Madrid are looking to replace Cristiano Ronaldo who left for Juventus in the summer.
