Tiemoue Bakayoko

Finally, Chelsea fans now have a cause to smile this summer following the heartbreak caused by the Lukaku saga.

After months of talks with Monaco, the premier league champions have eventually reached an agreement with the French club for their star player Tiemoue Bakayoko.

The France international is now ready to jet into England to undergo a medical and sign terms on Friday.

Chelsea have been discussing with the Ligue I champions about the signing of Bakayoko for months. And even recently, there were speculations that Jose Mourinho’s Man United are making a late attempt to hijack the deal from Chelsea after the Old Trafford club successfully completed the signing of Romelu Lukaku despite that he was linked with Chelsea for much of this summer.

However, French radio station RMC revealed that Chelsea have beat Man Utd for Bakayoko and have wrapped up a £40 Million deal for the Frenchman.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is said to be growing frustrated with his side’s inability to complete deals for his targets this summer, but will be appeased by this new development.

However, both Chelsea fans and Antonio Conte himself will wait a bit before they can see Bakayoko in action next season. The defensive midfielder got a mild injury over the summer and will not be fully fit until September.

He will sign a five-year deal with the west London club and become the third major player to move into Stamford Bridge this summer following the signings of Willy Caballero and Antonio Rudiger.
