Arsenal are reportedly set to sanction a winter move for Chilean Alexis Sanchez if they get the right bid with league leaders Manchester City thought to be favourites to secure his signature.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly reluctant to allow Sanchez leave before the season ends, but the North London club are believed to be ready to offload the Chilean after three-and-a-half seasons to prevent losing the attacker for nothing next summer.
As reported by BBC Sport, the Gunners are willing to sanction the winter transfer but only after they sign a replacement for Sanchez. Bordeaux’s winger Malcom is thought to be top of their wishlist to replace the former Barcelona forward.
The 20-year-old Brazil Under-21 winger has attracted a number of interests from top clubs including Premier League giants Manchester United after some impressive displays in the French League this campaign. Arsenal are thought to have made the initial approach and opened negotiations with his agents but we’ll wait to see if the French outfit will sanction the transfer this New Year.
Sanchez’s exit is also not sure before the end of January as the report suggests that Manchester City and North London club Arsenal are at ‘war’ in terms of the transfer fee.
