Belgium coach Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Chelsea star winger Eden Hazard will not feature for his Belgium side in their international games. Injury has forced the Belgian out of his country’s international squad.
Hazard suffered a calf strain in training and he missed his side’s Saturday’s 2-1 win over Stoke City in the premier league.
This season so far, the 25-year-old has been in exceptional form for the premier league leaders and was targeted by rivals Manchester United during their FA Cup victory at Stamford Bridge a week ago.
However, after Belgium boss Martinez has ruled out Hazard out of his Belgium squad for the international games, this means he is less likely to be available for Chelsea’s game with Crystal Palace
Martinez confirmed that even though Hazard has been in Belgium, he is not with his group but they are working with Chelsea to get the best treatment for him. He confessed that it is a big problem for him to lose a player like Hazard, and despite his desire to have the star player, the best choice is to go on without him.
Everyone are currently on an international break and Belgium will take on Greece this week before clashing with Russia on the 28th of this month. He has been ruled out of both matches and it is yet to be seen if he can be fit for the visit of Sam Allardyce’s Crystal Palace on the first day of next month.
Many Chelsea fans can’t wait for him to get back to the pitch fully fit, and so is Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.
