Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil and Wales international Aaron Ramsey look prepared to return to the North London sides squad against Carabao Cup final opponent Manchester City while France striker Alexandre Lacazette has been sidelined for the encounter.
German set to return
According to a report from the Mirror, the Germany international midfielder seems set to recover from sickness after missing out on the Gunners mid-week UEFA Europa League match with Ostersunds at the Emirates while Welshman Aaron Ramsey also seems to be winning his race to regain full fitness in time for the match.
However, the report claim that Former Lyon forward Lacazette will continue to be sidelined with a knee problem. Gabon international striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to lead the attack and will be coming into the game fresh after missing the UEFA Europa League due to being Cup-tied having played for Borussia Dortmund in the competition this season.
Pierre could lead attack
The African has quickly sealed his spot ahead of Alex Lacazette in the Gunners Squad since joining from Borussia Dortmund with Lacazette being dropped to the substitute bench after failing to perform well since his £52.7million summer switch to the Emirates stadium.
England international Raheem Sterling is a major doubt for City while Brazilian Gabriel Jesus could return to the squad after about two months out as per the Daily Mail.
Tomorrow’s cup final will be the first chance of the season to seal silverware and both Arsene Wenger and Pep Guardiola are likely to field their strongest possible sides.
