Arsenal Set To Beat Chelsea To Star Player’s Signature

Borussia Dortmund star player Sokratis Papastathopoulos has been in the news recently due to his links with some top European clubs including Manchester United and Chelsea.

However, there are new reports that Arsenal’s Sven Mislintat has identified the talented player as a priority signing when summer comes.

Although manager Arsene Wenger is leaving the Emirate Stadium at the end of this season, the management remained focused on drafting plans for the upcoming window, and they had been drawing a list of potential targets.

Since they utilised the past January transfer window to add more power to their attack department (by signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United respectively), the upcoming window will be used to power the defense department.

Arsenal have been linked with talented defenders like West Brom’s Jonny Evans. They made an attempt to sign the former Manchester United player in January, and they are expected to make a move for him once again at the end of this season.

However, the Independent had made it known that Borussia Dortmund star defender Sokratis has caught the attention of Arsenal’s head of recruitment Sven, and the chief is determined to sign him when summer comes.

The Greek international has been impressive at the Bundesliga side and has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea in recent times.

We however look forward to seeing which club would eventually win the race for his signature.
