According to the Express, Arsenal target, Marco Asensio is ready to be given a new deal by Real Madrid that includes a massive buyout clause, which will diminish any hope that Arsenal have of signing the 21-year-old star.

Real Madrid’s new contract for the Spaniard will include a massive £615million (€700million) buyout clause according to AS, with the Express claiming that the contract is set to keep the midfielder down until 2023.

As reported by the Express, Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane is eager to prevent the situation that bitter rivals FC Barcelona went through this just-concluded summer, in which the Spanish giant lost superstar Brazilian Neymar Jr. to Paris Saint Germain for £200million.

The Gunners were reported to be pursuing Asensio this summer, with Arsenal willing to trigger the player’s £42million release clause as reported by the Mirror. However, they seemed to have missed their opportunity now.

The reigning Spanish La Liga champions are hopeful that inserting a massive release clause in the youngster’s deal will go a long way to helping them hold onto the starlet at the club as per the Express.

Should Real Madrid manage to agree on a deal extension with Spaniard Asensio, it’ll be interesting to see who Arsenal target next after having missed out the opportunity to sign the ace.
