North London outfit Arsenal and Everton now the only suitors for West Ham defender Reece Oxford with the Premier League duo keen on his securing his service in the second half of the season.

German Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach where he had a loan spell and Manchester United were formerly in the race but they are believed to have been left out by the Gunners and Everton.

The North London club are in search of quality defenders and manager Unai Emery is desperate to strengthen and solve his defensive injury crisis at the Emirates with Rob Holding confirmed to be out for the season while Shkodran Mustafi is also struggling with injuries.

On their part, Everton are interested in adding the 20-year-old Oxford to the team so as to strengthen the team ahead of the second half of the season.

This is after it has been confirmed according to reports that Reece Oxford would be leaving the club after manager Manuel Pellegrini declared that he might not have a future at the club.

Versatile Oxford, who became West Ham’s youngest Premier League debutant aged just 16, is one of England’s biggest prospect, having played throughout the age groups.

However, the North London side will be submitting a bid for him as they hope to have him join the list of rich youths at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are known to encourage youths as well as hand them the opportunity of gaining some experience with the senior team in big games which will be a perfect place for the star player to develop and progress in his career.
