Liverpool will have to do battle with Premier League title rivals Manchester City in their quest to sign highly-rated Paris Saint Germain (PSG) midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
The 23-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best young midfielders on the world football stage.
He has been linked with a move away from the French capital club after rejecting several contract offers from the Champions League campaigners.
According to the report from popular Spanish media portal Mundo Deportivo, Premier League champions Manchester City are keen to capitalise on his contract standoff with the French champions by bringing back their former Academy player.
Adrien Rabiot has less than a year left on his present PSG contract and the Ligue 1 giants are desperate to sign him to a new deal at Parc des Princes.
The French international midfielder underlined his importance as a key component in the PSG midfield in the last campaign.
Rabiot made 50 appearances for the club in all competitions as he helped the French giants to the league title under Unai Emery.
He would be a very good transfer addition to a Liverpool midfield that’s increasingly ageing with the presence of the English duo of Jordan Henderson and James Milner.
