It is understood that English Premier League sides Arsenal and Manchester City are both battling to secure the signature of Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye, according to a Sky Sports report.
This is after it was claimed that Idrissa Gueye handed a transfer request to his Everton side so as to push for a move away from the club.
The star player is believed to have his sight on moving to the French Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint Germain but the North London outfit and the Manchester team have made an inquiry with Arsenal hoping to land him on a loan deal.
However, the Gunners are placed in a more advantageous situation in the battle for Idrissa Gueye knowing that the player stands a better chance f a regular football at the Emirate Stadium than with City, a factor he would consider before making his choice.
More so, the Pep Guardiola side have hinted that they will not be doing any deal in this winter transfer window as he is happy with the team despite gradually losing out of the race for the Premier League title.
However, the North London outfit are keen to add more players to their team and will hope some last minutes announcements are made.
