Manchester United are set to miss out on the signing of Bayern Munich midfielder, Renato Sanches, according to reports.
The 19-year-old has been a subject of transfer interest from a couple of clubs this summer after falling out of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans at the Allian Arena.
Manchester United were believed to be the front runners in a potential deal after Jose Mourinho came out to reveal that his side tried to sign Sanches before he opted for the German giants last summer.
Ancelotti also confirmed that Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti inquired about the Portuguese midfielder after their friendly game in the United States, sparking reports that the Blues were also in for the midfielder with suggestions that the Italian boss is keen on adding several players to his squad before the beginning of another Premier League season
However, The Mirror claims that the 19-year-old has opted to join AC Milan despite serious interest from several clubs in Europe.
Renato Sanches did well to dazzle Chelsea midfielders during their clash showing glimpses of his quality that drew attention during his time at Benfica.
United boss, Jose Mourinho who has publicly admired the midfielder, is believed to have told the club to bring in new faces to bolster his chances of getting more silverware next season but might be too keen on landing Sanches.
