AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli is certain that new Chelsea signing is the best striker in world football.

The 24-year-old talked about former AC Milan teammate Gonzalo Higuain in his recent interview as monitored by popular English news outlet Metro.

According to him, he would have liked Higuain to prolong his stay at the San Siro.

Alessio Romagnoli and Gonzalo Higuain were teammates at Italian Serie A giants AC Milan before the latter left the Rossoneri to join Premier League side Chelsea last month.

Higuain, 31, had earlier sealed a season-long loan move to AC Milan from Italian rivals Juventus at the start of this season.

The Argentine international scored six goals in his first seven Milan games before netting just two goals before his exit in January.

He cut short his loan deal to reunite with Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge.

Higuain had his best season in European football during his one and only season (2015/16) under Sarri at Napoli as he netted a record-breaking 36 goals in the league.

He has joined Chelsea on loan for the rest of the season with the option to buy him permanently for €36m in the summer as confirmed by parent club Juventus.
