Sarri has risen to quick fame following Chelsea’s springing rise back into the Premier League’s top four.
Though he’s done immensely well, grooming the players he inherited from fellow compatriot Antonio Conte and adding a few to add extra depth in his squad, it has been mooted the Blues will need to sign a frontman who is not goal-shy, should they be seen as serious title contenders this season.
Alvaro Morata has yet to hit that confidence depth he had when he was at former clubs Juventus and Real Madrid.
The Spaniard continues to struggle in the frontline and has been pipped by former Arsenal man Olivier Giroud for that berth in Sarri’s squad.
Why Martial, Rashford need not to be pampered anymore
The Blues are third on the Premier League log, unbeaten. However, it is understood if they don’t try to avoid the impending dangers of not landing a reliable striker who can strike terror against opponents before the second half of the 2018-19 Premier League season, they might experience a slip down the log.
Genoa forward Krzysztof Piatek and Inter’s Mauro Icardi both fit the bill and reports floating about say Chelsea are keen on sanctioning a deal for both forwards, who have been blazing guns for their respective clubs since the season went underway.
Chelsea will have to cough up around 150 million pounds for both players if they plan on landing them in January.
That looks unlikely to happen. However, Piatek has been tipped out of the two, as the favourite to be signed by the FA Cup winners.
Meanwhile, Icardi has said he’s willing to weigh offers for his services in January when he spoke about his future to Radio Onda Cero.
