Man United will hope to reduce the gap between them and league leaders Man City on Tuesday night when they clash with Watford at Vicarage Road.
The red devils won Brighton 1-0 on Saturday at Old Trafford while Watford thrashed Newcastle 3-0 at St James’ Park.
After the Tuesday game, Man United will travel to North London to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, and the game against Arsene Wenger’s side might influence Jose Mourinho’s selection against Watford.
As far as Man United’s team news is concerned, the duo of Eric Bailly and Phil Jones have been ruled out of the midweek game due to injuries, while the likes of Henrik Mkhitaryan, Marouane Fellaini and Luke Shaw didn’t travel with the rest of the party to Watford on Monday night.
Jose Mourinho is expected to rest Antonio Valencia for the Saturday game against Arsenal, and should give Matteo Darmian a start in his place.
In the absence of Jones and Bailly, Rojo and Smalling should start in the heart of defense.
And with De Gea in-between the sticks, here is the likely 4-3-3 starting XI we are expecting to see on Tuesday night against Watford.
GK – David De Gea
DL – Blind
DC – Marco Rojo
DC – Chris Smalling
DR – Matteo Darmian
DM – Nemanja Matic
MC – Ander Herrera
MC – Paul Pogba
WL – Marcus Rashford
WR – Jesse Lingard
