According to reports, Man United are thinking about allowing Juan Mata leave Old Trafford when January comes, and La Liga giants Real Madrid are said to be interested in the player.
The former Chelsea player had been sidelined by his Portuguese manager since he was substituted at halftime during the game at Huddersfield Town last month.
The Spain international was at fault for one of the goals scored by Huddersfield in the game, and Jose was so annoyed that he hauled him off the pitch.
Mata was benched against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford, and he was completely omitted from the matchday squad that played Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last Sunday. Despite travelling to West London with the rest of the party, the 29-year-old was dropped completely from the squad by manager Jose Mourinho.
And according to the Express, La Liga champions Real Madrid are planning to take advantage of the player’s current issues at Old Trafford with readiness to bring him over to Spain.
It was added that the Champions League winners are further encouraged by the fact that his contract at Man United will expire at the end of this season.
The red devils will lose the player for nothing next summer if they failed to give him a new deal before then, and Jose is understood to be considering cashing on him when January comes.
