Welsh football legend Ian Rush has revealed the reason behind the decision taken by Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey who will join Italian Serie A Champions Juventus in the summer.
Ex-Liverpool striker Ian Rush said that he spoke with Ramsey about the Juventus transfer some weeks ago.
In his latest interview monitored by the Birmingham Mail, Ian Rush confirmed that winning trophies played a major role in the Welsh international midfielder’s decision to leave Arsenal for Juventus this summer.
Earlier this week, Italian champions Juventus announced that Aaron Ramsey has signed a pre-contract agreement with them ahead of a free transfer move in the summer.
The 28-year-old rejected several offers from a lot of major European clubs to sign a mega-deal with Juventus.
Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint Germain (PSG), Manchester United were all interested in him before he opted for Juventus.
Aaron Ramsey will leave Arsenal this summer after spending 11 years in North London following his £5m transfer from Welsh side Cardiff City in 2008.
He’s the highest scoring central midfielder in the Gunners’ history with 61 goals.
Aaron Ramsey has won three FA Cup titles at Arsenal and was the player responsible for two match-winning goals against Hull City in 2014 and Chelsea in 2017.
