Wenger gives board the “go ahead” to re-sign midfield maestro – According to report, Arsenal are preparing to offer Jack Wilshere a long-term contract.
Arsenal who will play against Crystal Palace on Thursday are to renew Jack Wilshere’s deal after working hard to join the first team this season.
The 25-year-old star who has featured in 34 international caps, has scored just one goal and provided three assists in 16 appearances for Arsenal so far this season.
Wilshere joined the club’s academy when he was 9 years in 2001, he scored 13 times in 176 games in all competition for Arsenal, he has won 2 FA cups and 1 community shield.
The report made it known that Arsene Wenger has given the go-ahead to the board to secure a new contract for the midfielder at the Emirate Stadium, after being impressed by the star player’s recent display.
Wilshere will be out of contract soon, and top Premier League clubs have been asking of his availability with the likes of West Ham, Newcastle United and Everton showing strong interest to sign him.
He has started Arsenal’s last three games, and Wenger has shown interest to extend his contract beyond 2018. He currently earns £90,000-a-week, but the star player wants a whopping £120,000-a-week before putting pen to paper.
