Uncertain Future: Chelsea Talisman Unsure Of Summer Stay
Chelsea forward Eden Hazard is not sure on his stay at the club beyond the end of this season.
In a chat with BT Sports after he scored the winning penalty to take Chelsea through to the Europa League final, the Belgian international said that he’s uncertain of his stay at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard went on to say that he will do everything within his power to give the Chelsea fans the Europa League title especially if it would be his last game for the club.
The Chelsea talisman scored the winning penalty for his team for a 4-3 win over German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt during the shootout.
This was after both sides had played 1-1 after regulation time and after extra time.
The two teams had recorded the same scoreline in the first leg meeting held in Frankfurt, Germany.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek drew the first blood for Chelsea in the first half of the second leg off an assist from the aforementioned Hazard before the visitors equalized through the in-form Luka Jovic.
David Luiz was the hero for Chelsea during extra time after he made a superb goal-line clearance to stop the Blues from conceding a second goal.
Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga saved two penalties in the shootout to give the Blues a spot in the Europa League final.
