Tottenham Hotspur will challenge Arsenal for the signature of rising Danish star Joachim Andersen.
The amazing talent has reportedly attracted interest from the Premier League and the Serie A.
Strings of clubs are reportedly lined up for his services. In an earlier report, Arsenal looked like the only favourites to land him at the turn of the year when Juventus reportedly backed out of the chase for the star.
But now, the Gunners will face another tougher competitor in Tottenham. Their London rivals did not hire reinforcements this summer. The fight for Champions League spot has grown fiercer this season. And the London club sit below Arsenal in the table.
Mauricio Pochettino’s job as manager was suggested to be under threat after Spurs kickstarted this campaign on the wrong foot, despite victory against Manchester United.
Spurs also fear the possibility of losing Belgian Toby Alderweireld, who is nearing the end of his stay at Wembley.
Alderweireld refused to put pen to paper, and saw his move to join Manchester United thwarted by the club in the summer.
Andersen has been earmarked as a replacement for the Belgium international.
The Danish star is valued in the region of 25 million euros by Sampdoria, but his price tag could climb even higher before January according to the club’s president.
