Shaka Hislop has endorsed Chelsea’s pursuit of Juventus forward Gonzalo Higuain in the summer.
Juventus man linked with Chelsea move
The Argentina international striker has been strongly linked with a potential transfer to the West London club ahead of the 2018-19 League season.
Italian Serie A champions Juventus are allegedly open to selling Higuain despite signing him from rivals Napoli in 2016.
The prolific striker has fired Juventus to successive Italian titles but the Argentine has been unable to help the Turin giant get their hands on the UEFA Champions League crown.
The Argentine netted 16 goals and provided six assists in 35 matches in the Italian Serie A last season to produce a great if unspectacular season.
The Blues signed former Juventus forward Alvaro Morata in a £58million transfer deal from Spanish La Liga outfit Real Madrid last summer window.
Fumbling Spaniard
However, the Spain international striker netted 11 goals in the English Premier League to raise a lot of questions about his Chelsea future.
Former West Ham safe hand Hislop feels Gonzalo Higuain would be a good signing for the FA Cup holders.
The Blues finished in the fifth position in the English top flight to miss out on a UEFA Champions League place.
Chelsea were 1-0 winners against bitter rivals Manchester United in the Emirates FA Cup final last month at Wembley Stadium.
