Marouane Fellaini

Premier League giant Manchester United suffered injury scare to Belgium international Marouane Fellaini, but the midfielder could be fit again for upcoming Premier League fixture vs. Stoke City.

The Belgium international could be fully fit for Manchester United’s away trip to Stoke City on Saturday after missing Belgium’s FIFA World Cup qualifying victory over Gibraltar.

The 29-year-old midfield maestro was left out of the 9-0 thrashing on Thursday with a ‘little injury’ but could return to the Manchester United’s matchday squad list in Greece on Sunday night.

Belgium National team coach Roberto Martinez gave an update on the Manchester United star’s fitness ahead of their qualifying match in Piraeus.

“I (Martinez) was talking about Marouane (Fellaini) this morning,” (Roberto) Martinez said on Saturday. “He (Fellaini) is sharp, fit and eager (good to play). That’s a boost with the Greece game in view.”

Marouane Fellaini enjoyed a decent month of August with Manchester United even though he started their four matches on the substitute bench. He showed an improvement during their Super Cup loss to La Liga heavyweight Real Madrid and came on late on in the 4-0 victories against both West Ham and Swansea.

The Big Belgian is into his last year of his Manchester United deal and was heavily linked with a transfer to Turkey during the recently shut transfer window, but United manager Jose Mourinho insisted the midfielder will not leave.
