Sarri puts players to task after Spurs humbling!!!
After suffering their first defeat of the season as they were beaten 3-1 by Spurs at Wembley on Saturday evening, Maurizio Sarri is angry and has set new guidelines for his team to bounce back.
Chelsea’s defeat was carried out in the first 16 minutes after they concede two goals, Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min put Tottenham 3-0 up before Olivier Giroud netted a late consolation in what was a dominant victory for the hosts.
The former Napoli coach in a quest to fully understand the loss is clearly keen to make sure the problem wasn’t a physical one as he measured his players’ fitness levels at the Blues Cobham training complex.
It was an excruciating process as members of the squad took to the treadmills while linked up to machines measuring such things as their heart rate, body temperature and respiratory rate.
While some players were not very zealous about the task, the likes of David Luiz, N’Golo Kante and Jorginho all took it very seriously as their conditioning was put under the spotlight under the watchful eyes of the club’s medical staff.
Chelsea will be looking to bounce back from their Wembley humbling when they host PAOK in the Europa League on Thursday night.
