Sadly, former Arsenal star retires

Former Arsenal and France international player Abou Diaby has officially retired from football at the age of 32.

Abou Diaby made his retirement known in French television channel RMC’s “Footissime” show where he said he would be bringing his professional career to an end because it is the right time.

He had an early career with French Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint Germain before his move to the North London outfit from Auxerre in 2006, where he spent almost a decade before calling it quits.

Abou Diaby admitted having a difficult football career due to the several injuries he suffered all through his career and returning back to action has not gone as planned because of some physical problems as well.

He noted that it is a difficult decision to make but he is left with no choice than to make what he described as the right decision for him at the moment.

Abou Diaby would be remembered by the French national team as the first goal scorer of the Didier Deschamps era as they wished him success in his new life.

However, it is not clear what the next step means for Abou Diaby as he is yet to make any claim on what we should expect.
