Ever since five times world footballer of the year Christiano Ronaldo has left Real Madrid, the club’s president Florentino Perez has set his eyes on Chelsea forward Eden Hazard as he bids to replace the Portuguese superstar at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
According to the report from Spanish newspaper OK Diario, the Real Madrid supremo is keen to sign the in-form Belgian international forward.
The publication also stated that the Champions League holders want Hazard to link up with Bayern Munich playmaker James Rodriguez so they can both make a formidable pair at the team.
The Colombian star has been on loan at the Allianz Arena after joining from Real Madrid in 2017. He signed a two-year loan deal with Bayern Munich.
The former AS Monaco and FC Porto player is finding life difficult in German after he had a fall out with Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac and there is almost a certainty that he will return to Spain unless there’s a change of manager.
Florentino Perez and Real Madrid would be hoping that Hazard would be able to join James Rodriguez at the club.
Eden Hazard has been in sensational form and he’s the joint leading goalscorer in the Premier League with seven goals.
His long-term future at Chelsea is in doubt following the inability of the Blues to commit him to a new contract. The Belgian has less than two years on his current deal at Chelsea.
