Alex Sandro has emerged as a target for Chelsea this summer and according to new reports, the premier league champions are set to complete a £61 Million move for the player which will make him the most expensive defender ever.
The £61M will beat the £50m paid to Liverpool for Fernando Torres in 2011, and it is understood Stamford Bridge club are ready to recoup around £20 Million by selling Nathan Ake to Bournemouth permanently.
Ake was on loan at Bournemouth last season and he impressed greatly at the club before being recalled to Stamford Bridge in January to add to Antonio Conte’s options at the left side of his defense.
And he performed well above average when he deputised for Cahill in the FA Cup semi-final, but couldn’t get a regular spot in the squad during the latter part of the term.
Juventus reportedly rejected the blues initial bid of £55.2m although they made it known they won’t hinder the 26-year-old from leaving Turin if they get a right price for him.
The Serie A champions will make a fine profit on Sandro, the youngster they signed two years ago from Porto for £23m.
Chelsea are ready to increase their bid as they remain committed to pleasing Antonio Conte to encourage him keep his mind at Stamford Bridge.
