Chelsea Legend Salutes Magical Salah Goal

Pat Nevin

Former Chelsea winger Pat Nevin has described the wonder goal from Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah as one of the best goals he has ever seen.

The Chelsea legend waxed lyrical about the Mohamed Salah strike while he was doing his punditry work on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Pat Nevin scored 36 goals in 193 appearances during his time at Chelsea.

He’s one of several pundits to pay tribute to the goal scored by Mohamed Salah against his former club Chelsea at the weekend.

Salah produced one of the best goals of the season to help Liverpool beat Chelsea 2-0 on Sunday evening.

The Reds triumphed over Chelsea with the help of two second-half goals including the thunderbolt strike from Salah.

Chelsea frustrated Liverpool in the first half only for the Merseysiders to increase the tempo after the halftime interval.

Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson picked out teammate Sadio Mane at the back post to head the Reds into the lead on 51 minutes.

Salah added a second goal just two minutes later with a sumptuous strike to make it two league goals in as many games having scored in the last league game, a 3-1 win at the home of Southampton.

The Egyptian is the joint leading goalscorer in the Premier League with Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero (19 goals).
