The injury occurred in Ings second appearance of the season in the EFL cup fourth round when he made a tackle in Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Tottenham. He has suffered ligament damage to his right knee and will be out of action for about nine months and is scheduled to have a surgery in London on Wednesday.
