While we all thought Chelsea forward Diego Costa is destined to make a return back to his former Spanish club Atletico Madrid, there are reports that his agent has held talks with Serie A giants AC Milan over a potential move.
Even though the Milan club have been linked with him in the past, a return back to the La Liga is what appeared most likely for some time.
Despite being in London for three years, the talented striker is known not to have fully settled in Stamford Bridge and he made it known earlier this summer that he is interested in moving back to Atletico Madrid.
Nevertheless, Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that the player’s agent Mendes has been discussing transfers to AC Milan for three of his clients, with Diego part of them.
The Serie A heavyweights have had a busy summer in the transfer market, bringing in a handful of signings, including former Juventus defended Leonardo Bonucci. What is however remaining is a top class striker signing, and they have also been linked with Torino’s Andrea Belotti.
Antonio Conte has told him to leave the club as he does not feature in his plans for the upcoming campaign, and Costa himself revealed this.
A move to the Italian capital might be the best thing, since Atletico Madrid are still serving a transfer ban and won’t be able to register new players till next January.
